Midnight
Blue Moon
Jonas and the rest of Ebon Storm enters the hotel. Bethany carries with her a box under one arm, Ana a grocery bag, Rory a bottle of good Champagne, and Gabriel a black felt blanket. After a couple seconds, and a couple bars of "The Girl From Impanema," the doors open, and the pack steps in. He was right, "The Girl from Impanema" was playing...Silvertongue does like him some bossa nova. Jonas removes his roof access card, swipes it, and the elevator begins its ascent.
**PING**
The door opens, and they all file out in to the crisp night air. Jonas smiles, Grandfather Thunder had brought a cold front in his cloak last night, and Luna was high above, her face almost completely visible. Jonas continues across the rooftop to a clear spot on the roof and the pack places their load down seemingly setting up a picnic...eggs, ham, bagels, orange juice, real Champagne, glasses for mimosas, all laid out on a blanket. Bethany removes the toaster from its box. It's a great toaster, a blend of retro and newness...chrome and simple, with a spot to cook an egg, or some Canadian bacon. Jonas sets this magnificent toaster in the center of the blanket and begins the offering to City Mother.
When he finishes, Jonas raises his hands above his head, the mallet is drawn from his body, and comes down with a crash on the toaster. The pack starts in on the destruction the food, the Champagne, the glasses, everything until he is satisfied everything has been obliterated. They clean up the mess from outside the blanket, place the grocer-carnage on the blanket, and tie it off to dispose of the mess later.
By the time Ebon Storm passes through the wall between worlds, City Mother is waiting with Mimosas and breakfast foods. One place setting is empty, and the Mimosa is poured out onto the ground every so often.
