"Probably also for the best, I hear that some of the brands have quite the snarky aftertaste. Then again, I'm not so much a domestic beer kind of guy. So, lower rung guys generally don't take their work home with them...I know the executives are up to their eyeballs...and in theory, security shouldn't be bad, but probably is. I'm still shocked at the corporate espionage. I feel like I'm stuck in the middle of Beerfest. So, you think there's actually someone on the inside passing information to people outside? What kind of info could possibly be so important? Secret recepies?" I hop up from my chair to fill our cups again

"No, I don't think it's a matter of information. I imagine it has something to do with the bomb threat that happened more than a month ago. I heard from a friend, that nothing was actually recovered, yet the plant was still closed for the day." Robert took the cup back from Jonas and had another sip.

"I'm still trying to figure out why someone would call in a bomb threat to a beer factory. Isn't that where all things good, golden, and heady are born? Just seems odd that someone would want to try to shut down a beer plant. I haven't heard of anything like that since the Prohibition...but I don't keep my nose in alcoholic beverage industry's business. Did the bomb threat list reasons why Tri-Eagle was targeted? Policy? Flavor? Too much B-2-the-E, got hyper and drunk, and decided to go hog wild and blow up the brewery?"

"That's the question of the year...but security's been keeping a pretty tight handle on that whole situation, so getting details is difficult. Talking to shift leaders is like talking to a politician. All I get is 'I can neither confirm nor deny that rumor.'"

"hmm, what kind of rumors...this is the sort of thing I find intriguing. Then again, I wonder, other than profits etc, what is worth saving in a beer facility for a beer that isn't all that great to begin with. I mean, let's be honest...it's marginally ok, there are much better beers on the shelf. Angry drunks are rampant, America's spending millions on bigger belts, and in the end there's a product you are told you have to be proud of. Then again, I absolutely must applaud you, since you make it look so damn good. Me? I'm a big fan of Tequila...Patron Silver...Tres Generaciones...no brown party liquors for me though. That stuff makes a man mean."

"You would be surprised how fierce the competition over recipes and additives can be. Company 'A' invents comes up with some new addition to give the product a longer shelf-life. Company 'B' fights tooth-and-claw to either come up with their own, or get a hold of company 'A's. Personally, I don't really approve of the use of chemical additives. They can sometimes have bad effects on people. Do bad things to their insides."

"That's another thing eating this country from the inside out, additives. There are a lot of companies willing to put all sorts of shit into food and drink. Some of it erodes the body, but I think it's making the people complacent...eating the soul, as it were. I've seen these things wreck the insides of people, but I think we've seen a surge of these additives wrecking the outsides of these people, too. Judging by the fact you don't drink your own brand, you probably think that there's some thing wrong with the brew. It's always good to see a man who hasn't sold his soul to the company store."

"I imagine, if you want to get all existential about it, you could say that they eat away at your soul. Don't get me wrong, I whole-heartedly endorse my company's product and have no problems toss a few back with customers....but it ends when I go home. I'm around most days and nights, I enjoy a change of pace in my off-time

"That's all well and good, I suppose. Gotta keep up appearances and all, I understand that. Folks at the rock gym, well, they miss you and are quite frankly a little worried that you're going to end up with a beer gut. Things have changed so much since you stood in the shadow of a good boulder...the natives stopped drinking Thundebird after our endorsement campaign, and assisted the bushleague baseball team with a donation of new Bats. Things are looking up when you decide to come back. Do you have anything you'd like to pass on to them?"

"Hopefully, if there is a promotion in the works, I'll be able to take a little bit of vacation time and make it back out there. I've been so busy, I've hardly had time to see the family or take the wife out for a nice dinner."

"What are the higher ups waiting for? You have certainly done your time slaving for the company store. What could possibly speed up the process for you? My voice reaches a lot of ears..."

"Hey, buddy...what's going on? You ok? Anything I need to know? You can make a man nervous just sitting around his office staring blankly after he's asked you what he can do for you..."

Robert brought a hand up mouth, and grimaced briefly. "Ugh...I'm sorry." He brought the hand down to his stomach. He looked back to Jonas with a disarming smile. "Bit of indigestion from lunch...probably shouldn't have added those extra peppers...What're they waiting for? I don't know...perhaps for my retirement, which won't be coming anytime soon. Lofty career goals, and the like"

"Hmm, yeah, you really have to be careful and get it checked out. Eat or drink the wrong thing, end up with those intestinal worms...scares the hell out of me. Ever since that trip to Mexico and the bout of dysentery. Good thing the father-in-law was a pharmacist...he sent me down with some pills, cleared that right up in a matter of hours. So yeah, back to the promotion, what would need to happen to help massage that along? Where do you want to go? Lofty career goals, yes, but what prize do you have your eye on?"
